Environmental Services

Background: Development of PAGE Environmental, Social, Safety and Health Component

The inception of PAGE was initially for the sole purpose of perfuming tasks related to land survey, suited to address the qualifications of its founding directors. Over time, through observations, integrating interactions and the global growing needs for Environmental and Social sustainability, the PAGE directors saw it valuably necessary to venture in this space.

Our linkages between Survey and Environmental Services:

a.) In Environmental and Social Management

  • Climate change adaptation: Identifying high-risk areas and optimize resource allocation to adapt to climate change.
  • Environmental impact assessments: Identifying suitable locations for projects, collect baseline data, and analyze potential environmental impacts.
  • Sustainable land use planning: Surveying can help balance the social, economic, and environmental impacts of development.
  • Resource planning and Management: Can help identify and map suitable areas embedded with environmental resources and help in designing sustainable approaches for their use. It helps in optimizing resource usage and reduce wastage through mapping approaches.
  • Social Integration: Surveyors can work with communities, government agencies, and other professional groups to provide solutions to environmental and Social issues.

b.) In Safety

  • Hazards identification: Identify potential hazards like unstable ground, steep slopes, and flood-prone areas. They can also identify hazards related to human activity, like the storage of hazardous materials or the construction of pipelines.
  • Providing recommendations: We may provide recommendations for how to mitigate risks. This information is important for engineers and architects when designing safe structures.
  • Assessing high-risk areas: We use equipment like drones to assess high-risk areas that are difficult or unsafe for people to access.
  • Conducting surveys before and after projects: We can conduct surveys before and after projects to ensure civil engineers have the data they need to build safe structures.
  • Prioritizing safety protocols: Crucial in diverse environment, including remote locations and construction projects. Safety protocols can help make land surveying safer, whether you’re dealing with wildlife, extreme weather, or rough terrain.
