At page geomatic we have studied the environment and how it is affected by human activities. We have analyzed environmental data, researched the effects of various pollutants and developed solutions to environmental problems. This solutions may also be used to create programs and policies that may be used to preserve the environment.

  • Environmental and Social Survey for the construction of the Tarachi community Dam in Kalobeyei, Kakuma Turkana County The task involved Community integration into the ESIA Process through Community Driven Stakeholder Consultative Processes, Environmental Surveys, Scoping for parallel projects and suitability analysis for the projects. All meetings involved all categories and levels of stakeholders within the Kalobeyei Community, county based stakeholders and the national steering committees.
    Athi Water Services Board Water Infrastructure Project The project covers two upper Water catchment areas at Aberdare hills, and entails tunneling to connect water systems from Tana water catchment to the Athi Water Catchment in order to increase water supply for Nairobi City and its environs. Scope: Environmental audit for the project development and to review compliance mechanisms and project impacts on the Aberdare hills ecosystem as well as on the direct project environment and on downstream users
    Lake Victoria North Water Resources Management Authority Water catchment Flood Mitigation This is a World Bank Funded program which initiated a number of Lake Victoria North Water Catchment Projects to mitigate flooding at Budalangi area (lower Nzoia) During development of Lake Victoria North Community Based Conservation of Water Catchment programs we carried out the following duties:

  • Biodiversity Transect Analysis (BIOTA) Research in the Biodiversity Studies BIOTA is a German Initiative affiliated to the National Museums of Kenya and other Eastern, Central and Western Africa Countries, studying the Ecology of the Congo Forest and the furthest Eastern extent of the forest’s related remnant micro-environment (Kakamega Forest in Kenya). Our engagement was in assisting in a research component dealing with monitoring and assessment of growth and regeneration of certain forest species across the equatorial belt
    GIBB Africa Ltd Agriculture – Large Scale Irrigation Infra Structure
    National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) Enforcement of Environmental law (Kenya) NEMA is the lead statutory institution mandated with implementing environmental Management policy at a National Level in Kenya. We were in charge of administering NEMA’s mandate at district and county level. As a statutory gazzeted Environmental Inspector,performed the following:
  • Implement Environmental Management and Coordination Act (EMCA) 1999 and its regulations
  • Take care of NEMA office at District and later County Level
  • Review all levels of submitted Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Audit reports as part of the licensing process (including upstream to downstream oil and gas projects)
  • Inspect the spatial environment for regulatory breaches and compliance levels in line with instituted Environmental guidelines and regulations
  • Coordinate my mandates with lead institutions such as Forest department, water resources management authority, civil engineering department, learning institutions, etc.
  • National Museums of Kenya (NMK) Participatory Conservation Project Participated in field research of the Community Driven Conservation of Traditional Medicinal Plants Project. Biodiversity Transect Analyses (BIOTA), which analysed Ecological change affecting the Congo Forest’s Eastern Extent. Duties:
